Halfway Through

So I'm here on Dave's couch, rehashing the day. I'm not sure if I was successful, but it was definitely interesting.... I guess.

So I'm starting to realize that the gig at the Speaker's office is not all that it's cracked up to be. Yeah, I'm there in the middle of things... and yeah, I'm learning tons about the hill... but something's just not right. I mean, I found myself sitting down for hours on end, answering the phone. I'm an human answering machine. Hell, even a real answering machine gets paid for what it does. There's that and running papers around the building, to which I get lost almost everytime. There HAS to be more than this.

In other interesting news, I got word that a newspaper in Greece is interested in doing an article on me. Apparently they got word of the Sentinel piece and contacted the office looking for me. Yeah, I have no freaking clue what that's all about, but I did email the guy back, so we'll see.

On the way...

I'm here at Dave's place getting ready for the day. I'm really not sure what to expect, but I'm sure that at some point today… I will make an ass of myself.

There is so much to know about the Hill and Congress, and I'm being thrown to the wolves in the Speakers office of all things. I've studied up on the top staffers and their backgrounds, but even with that, there is no way I can remember all these names and places without screwing up royally. We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck.
